Level 1 Food Safety - Catering

Food handlers and their employers have a legal duty to manage food safety. These responsibilities are defined by a range of UK and EU legislation, which require that all food prepared, cooked, served, or sold is safe for human consumption. Failure to follow food safety standards can lead to contamination, potentially resulting in serious or fatal consequences.
This course provides an introduction to food safety awareness for catering environments. It explains how food safety risks arise, the hazards present from delivery through to service, and the controls that can be put in place to prevent contamination. Training staff using this online course helps raise awareness of food safety risks and supports compliance with legal responsibilities.
Please note that this course is Level 1 in terms of subject knowledge only and does not lead to a formal Level 1 qualification.
