Preparation for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test

This course is designed for candidates who have completed the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course and want to prepare for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment touch screen test. It provides a comprehensive review of the key learning objectives from the Level 1 course, covering topics such as accident reporting, environmental awareness, health and welfare facilities, fire safety, and hazardous substances. The course concludes with a 50-question mock test designed in the same style as the official touch screen test.
Course Overview
This course reviews the essential health and safety topics covered in the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course to prepare candidates for the CITB touch screen test. It begins by covering general workplace responsibilities and procedures, including accident reporting, first aid, and emergency protocols. Candidates will then explore key safety areas such as the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), manual handling, fire safety, electrical safety, and safe operation of tools and equipment. Environmental awareness, waste control, dust and fume hazards, noise and vibration, and health and welfare in the workplace are also covered to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the construction environment.
The course continues with topics that address specific on-site risks, such as site transport safety, lifting operations, working at height, excavations, confined spaces, and hazardous substances. Each section reinforces safer work practices, hazard recognition, and regulatory requirements. The program concludes with a mock test designed in the same format as the official CITB touch screen test, allowing learners to apply their knowledge, practice exam-style questions, and build confidence in preparation for the official assessment.
