Service Description
Course Overview This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to common workplace emergencies. The training covers first aid principles, casualty assessment, and practical techniques for managing incidents such as choking, bleeding, burns, and shock. The course ensures compliance with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and HSE guidance for emergency first aid provision in the workplace. Course Length Duration: 1 day (approximately 6 hours, including theory and practical exercises) What You Will Learn By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the role and responsibilities of an emergency first aider Assess and manage an unconscious casualty Perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) Manage choking, severe bleeding, burns, and shock Follow correct procedures for reporting and recording incidents Recognise when to summon professional medical assistance Who Is It For This course is suitable for: Designated first aiders in the workplace Employees required to provide emergency first aid Supervisors and managers responsible for workplace safety Assessment Method Participants will be assessed through: Continuous observation of practical skills A short written or multiple-choice test to confirm understanding Certification Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years. Prerequisites No prior first aid experience is required. Participants should be physically capable of performing first aid techniques safely.

Booking, Cancellation & Attendance Policy Refund Eligibility The following cancellation charges apply: More than 14 days before the Course: Full refund (minus a £15 admin fee) 7–14 days before the Course: 50% of Fee payable Less than 7 days before the Course: 100% of Fee payable Late Cancellations Cancellations made less than 7 days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund. How to Cancel All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to: katy@solenttrainingsolutions.co.uk No-Shows Participants who do not attend the course and fail to provide cancellation notice will not receive a refund. Late Arrivals Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled course start time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the published start time, you may be refused entry. Refunds will not be issued to participants who are refused entry due to late arrival.
