Service Description

Course Overview Falls from height are a leading cause of workplace injuries and fatalities. This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to safely use steps and ladders in accordance with health and safety regulations, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 1998), and best practice. The training focuses on hazard awareness, proper selection, inspection, and safe use of steps and ladders to ensure tasks at height are carried out safely and effectively. Course Length Duration: Half day (approximately 3–4 hours, including theory and practical exercises) What You Will Learn By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the risks associated with working at height using steps and ladders Recognise the legal and regulatory requirements for ladder and step use Select the right equipment for the task and environment Inspect ladders and steps for defects and damage Apply safe practices when setting up, using, and storing ladders and steps Who Is It For This course is suitable for: Anyone required to use steps or ladders in their work Maintenance personnel, construction workers, warehouse staff, and supervisors Health and safety representatives responsible for safe use of access equipment Assessment Method Participants will be assessed through: A short written or multiple-choice test to confirm understanding Practical observation of safe ladder and step use Certification Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Competence in Steps and Ladders Safety, valid for three years (or in line with organisational policy). Prerequisites No formal qualifications are required. Participants should be physically capable of safely using steps and ladders.


Cancellation Policy

Booking, Cancellation & Attendance Policy Refund Eligibility The following cancellation charges apply: More than 14 days before the Course: Full refund (minus a £15 admin fee) 7–14 days before the Course: 50% of Fee payable Less than 7 days before the Course: 100% of Fee payable Late Cancellations Cancellations made less than 7 days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund. How to Cancel All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to: katy@solenttrainingsolutions.co.uk No-Shows Participants who do not attend the course and fail to provide cancellation notice will not receive a refund. Late Arrivals Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled course start time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the published start time, you may be refused entry. Refunds will not be issued to participants who are refused entry due to late arrival.
