Service Description

Course Overview This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to work safely at height, with a strong emphasis on harness awareness and safe working practices around leading edges. The training ensures compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and promotes best practice for preventing falls and managing risk when working near or on exposed edges. Course Length Duration: Half day (approximately 4 hours, including theory and practical elements) What You Will Learn By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the legal requirements and responsibilities under the Work at Height Regulations 2005 Identify hazards and assess risks when working at height and near leading edges Select, inspect and correctly use appropriate fall protection and restraint systems Fit and adjust safety harnesses and lanyards safely and effectively Recognise the additional risks presented by leading-edge work and apply control measures Plan and implement safe systems of work, including emergency and rescue considerations Who Is It For This course is suitable for: Anyone required to work at height or near leading edges Roofers, maintenance workers, construction operatives and site supervisors Health and safety personnel responsible for managing work-at-height safety Assessment Method Participants will be assessed through: A short written or multiple-choice test to confirm theoretical understanding Practical demonstrations of safe harness fitting and leading-edge awareness techniques Certification Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Competence in Working at Height (Including Leading Edge), valid for three years. Prerequisites No formal qualifications are required. However, participants should have a basic understanding of workplace safety and be physically capable of wearing and adjusting a harness.

Booking, Cancellation & Attendance Policy Refund Eligibility The following cancellation charges apply: More than 14 days before the Course: Full refund (minus a £15 admin fee) 7–14 days before the Course: 50% of Fee payable Less than 7 days before the Course: 100% of Fee payable Late Cancellations Cancellations made less than 7 days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund. How to Cancel All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to: katy@solenttrainingsolutions.co.uk No-Shows Participants who do not attend the course and fail to provide cancellation notice will not receive a refund. Late Arrivals Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled course start time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the published start time, you may be refused entry. Refunds will not be issued to participants who are refused entry due to late arrival.
